7ème Ballade, RO15 Op 87

composer
? 1860s; published in Mainz in 1877

A sad, sweet poem (in E flat) with its reminiscences of Chopin but on a far more intimate scale, this Ballade was published after Gottschalk’s death by Nicolás Esperado (see the notes for CD 4) ‘sur Manuscrits originaux avec autorisation de sa famille’.
