Nocturne in E flat major, Op 9 No 2
EnglishFrançaisDeutsch
Frédéric Chopin composed his three Nocturnes Op 9 between 1830 and 1832. Casals frequently played the second of these, the famous Nocturne in E flat major, as an encore in the highly idiomatic arrangement by the influencial cellist and composer David Popper, who became the leader of the Hungarian cello school while teaching at the Conservatory at Budapest.
