The MS of the Magnificat is the first draft of the imposing piece later called Alleluia (S183/1—in volume 7 of the Liszt series), and remains unpublished. Liszt actually marks it ‘gilt nicht’ (not valid), but it is interesting to compare this work with the slightly more complicated final version.
