Bass: The ungodly said: Tenor: Come on, let us enjoy the good things that are present, let us fill ourselves with costly wine, and let no flow’r of the spring pass by us, let none of us go without his part in our voluptuousness, let us leave tokens of our joyfulness in every place. Trio: For this is our portion and our lot is this. Bass: But remember that for all these things God will bring ye into judgement. Alto: Rend your hearts and not your clothes and turn unto the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Trio: Remember not the sins and offences of my youth, but according to thy mercy, think thou on me O Lord for thy goodness, spare us, good Lord. Choir: So we that are thy people and the sheep of thy pasture shall give thee thanks for ever. Trio: Spare us good Lord. Alto: Because thy heart was tender and thou didst humble thyself before God, and didst rend thy clothes and did weep before him, he will gather thee to thy fathers and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace. Choir: So we that are thy people and the sheep of thy pasture shall give thee thanks for ever, and will always be showing forth thy praise from generation to generation. Amen.
