To Edith

First line:
So like a flower, thy little four-year face in its pure freshness
composer
1919
author of text

Harmony Ives supplied the text of To Edith, a tender paean to the Iveses’ four-year-old adopted daughter, in January 1919. The music was adapted, as Ives noted, from an old song (now lost) that he had written in 1892.
