Scriabin: Piano Sonata No 3; Musorgsky: Pictures from an exhibition

Rising start pianist Alessio Bax presents a programme of works by Scriabin and Musorgsky. The sensual world of Scriabin is represented by his Piano Sonata No 3 (among the most imposing of the ten), an early étude and the left-hand prelude, while Musorgsky's supremely challenging Pictures from an Exhibition (in its original piano solo version) is joined by a new transcription of the riotous Night on Bare Mountain.
