Despite being published as part of Catoire’s Op 36 the charming Waltz actually dates from Catoire’s earliest years. It is technically quite demanding, with repeated notes and a constantly winding theme of semitonal inflexion.

Quoique publiée sous le numéro d’opus 36, cette charmante Valse date en réalité des toute premières années compositionnelles de Catoire. Elle est fort exigeante sur le plan technique, avec des notes répétées et un thème, constamment ondoyant, d’inflexion semitonale.
