For this second version of Oh! quand je dors, the second stanza was completely rewritten, its enharmonic modulation typical of its composer—but the magical ending that ascends straight up into the heavens where Petrarch adores his Laura is still there.

La deuxième strophe d’Oh! quand je dors fut entièrement réécrite, avec sa modulation enharmonique typique du compositeur—mais il a conservé la fin magique qui s’élève directement dans les cieux avec l’évocation de Laura apparaissant à Pétrarque.
