The trio on the Christmas chorale Herr Christ, der einig Gottes Sohn, BWV-Anhang 55, resembles the fourth movement of Cantata 140, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, which Bach transcribed as the first of the Schübler Chorales—the chorale melody, slightly decorated, is in the tenor against an obbligato melody in the right hand with a continuo bass part in the pedals.

Le trio sur le choral de Noël Herr Christ, der einig Gottes Sohn, BWV Anhang 55 ressemble au quatrième mouvement de la Cantate 140, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, dont Bach fit, en le transcrivant, le premier des Chorals Schübler – la mélodie du choral, légèrement ornée, est au ténor, contre une mélodie obbligato à la main droite et une partie de basse continue aux pédales.
