Reviews

‘Once again it is The Tallis Scholars who do the honours!’ (Presto Classical)» More
Out from the deep exists only in seventeenth-century sources and its attribution to Tallis cannot be secure. Two partbooks in Gloucester Cathedral record this metrical setting of Psalm 130 as being by William Parsons, but a complete source (the Chirk Partbooks) assign it to Tallis. In common with other Edwardine English-texted anthems it uses the form ABB and is completely syllabic, and it has the same gentle beauty that can be found in Tallis’ other works in English from this period.

Out of the deep existiert nur in Quellen des 17.
