Sonata 10 is what one expects a work in C minor from the period to be—broodingly passionate. Its second and fourth movements are perfect stylizations of the allemande and gigue respectively.

Die Sonate 10 ist so geartet, wie man es von einem Werk in c-Moll aus dieser Zeit erwartet inbrünstig grüblerisch. Ihr zweiter und vierter Satz sind perfekte Stilisierungen der Allemande bzw. der Gigue.
