Georges Hüe

From a family of illustrious French architects, Georges Hüe (1858–1948) was best known as an opera composer. Hüe studied composition with Gounod and the organ with Franck, at the Paris Conservatoire. He won the Prix de Rome in 1879. His operas include Les pantins (1881), Le roi de Paris (1901), Titania (1903) and Dans l’ombre de la cathédrale (1921).
