Exeter Philharmonic Choir

Exeter Philharmonic Choir was founded in 1846 and thus is one of the oldest musical organisations in the country. The choir has performed concerts in Exeter every year since. There are about 120 auditioned members singing under the baton of Andrew Millington, who is also Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral.

Throughout its history the Choir has been closely associated with the musical life of Exeter Cathedral where most of its concerts are held, supported by professional orchestras and soloists.

The choir has toured Spain and Germany in recent years performing a wide range of choral music. The choir has featured on a CD recording of Rodrigo’s choral works in association with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and a performance of this music was given in the Royal Festival Hall, London.
