Lars Woldt (bass-baritone)

Lars Woldt was born in Herford, Germany and studied composition and voice in Detmold. After initial engagements in Detmold and Innsbruck he became a member of the Volksoper Wien from 2004. In addition to his singing career, Lars Woldt teaches voice as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. His performances include Waldner (Arabella), Rocco (Fidelio), Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier), Fasolt (Das Rhinegold), Daland (Der fliegende Hollander), Baculus (Der Wildschütz), Kaspar (Der Freischütz), and Dokto (Wozzeck).

Lars has performed around the world including in Cologne, Stuttgart, Madrid, Taipei, Copenhagen, and Budapest, and at the Bastille (Paris), Theater an der Wien, Staatsoper Wien, Bregenz Festival, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival. He has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras including the radio symphony orchestras in Cologne, Hannover, Munich, Stuttgart and Vienna; Bamberger Symphoniker; Stuttgarter Philharmoniker; Gürzenich-Orchester Köln; Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen; Philharmonie Berlin; and at the Gewandhaus Leipzig. His concert repertoire includes Bach’s Matthäus-Passion, Johannes-Passion, Weihnachtsoratorium and Mass in B Minor, Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria.
