Jurgita Adamonytė (mezzo-soprano)

Born in Lithuania, Jurgita Adamonytė graduated with a Master of Music diploma from the Lithuanian Academy of Music. She continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, the Royal Academy of Music (London), and at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice.

Jurgita’s major performances have included Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro), and Dunyasha (Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar’s Bride) at the Royal Opera House; Cherubino (The Marriage of Figaro) in the Salzburg Festival’s production with Robin Ticciati; Idamante (Mozart's Idomeneo) in Amsterdam, and for the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires; and Page (Strauss’ Salome) at the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus. Recent engagements include Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande in Vilnius; Berg’s Lulu for Teatro Comunale in Bolzano; and Olga (Eugene Onegin) for Garsington Opera.

Recent projects include Ino (Handel's Semele) for Garsington Opera, and her role debut as Meg Page (Verdi's Falstaff) at Teatro Regio di Parma, Italy. During the 2017/18 season she sings Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) in Hong Kong, for Welsh National Opera.
